In case you don’t want to read through this whole article, I’ll just make it easy for you: No, they don’t work.

Wouldn’t that be nice if they did? Unfortunately, the concept of anti-wrinkle exercises is fundamentally flawed.

The reason why they can’t be effective is fairly simple. The constant contracting and flexing of your facial muscles is one of the factors that causes wrinkles over time in the first place. It doesn’t make much sense to think that you can reverse the effects of wrinkles by using those muscles in excess.

Even if it did make sense to “strengthen” your facial muscles to combat wrinkles, it wouldn’t be that effective anyway. The main cause of wrinkles in most adults is sun damage, not poorly toned facial muscles.

However, don’t completely discounts physical exercises when it comes to turning back the clock. Full body exercises like aerobics (and several others) do plenty to help improve blood flow and oxygen flow, which can subsequently help to give you an overall more youthful look. But as far as making funny faces for 20 minutes at a time, we don’t recommend it!

As it stands today, the only two real methods of reducing wrinkles is through cosmetic surgical procedures like Botox, or with the help of quality anti-aging creams. A combination of the two is by far the most effective, but you don’t necessarily have to go through a surgical procedure to see fantastic results. You just need a powerful face cream that works for you!
